Asparagus and Cauliflower Salad

Prior to weight loss surgery, many surgeons will ask you to follow a meal replacement program to help shrink the size of your liver. It makes the surgery easier for them, hence safer for you.

For some time, Optifast has been one of the most common meal replacements used for the pre surgery diet, however we are thrilled to see the arrival of Formulite on the market. Formulite contains 24 added vitamins and minerals, is a good source of protein, low in carbs and sugar, is a good source of fibre, contains prebiotics and probiotics with no artificial sweeteners and tastes delicious. You can read our review of Formulite here.

Whatever meal replacement product you choose, you should always aim to include extra low energy veggies and salads for extra nutrition, to stave off boredom and to help fill you up.

Here is just one of the recipes developed by the team at Formulite that they have generously let us share.
