Achieving an adequate protein intake after weight loss surgery is essential to long term good health and weight loss outcomes. We know how challenging it can be to meet your protein needs, particularly in the early post surgery stages. Protein powder is a great way to top up your intake and meet your protein targets, however the only question is, which one to choose?
When selecting a protein supplement the two most important things to consider are the type and amount of protein used. Ideally you want a supplement that contains whey protein isolate and has at least 90g protein per 100g.
To save you time and effort, we have chosen one which is high in protein (90g of protein per 100g), less than 1% carbohydrate with no added sugar, is gluten-free and low lactose and has no artificial colours. Being neutral flavoured it is highly versatile in the kitchen.
